Pumpkin Spice Martini

Owning Your Own Business
When we moved to Kansas City, we didn’t know a soul here. In the early days, we were building a business and could barely catch our breath from its demands. We pretty much worked from sun-up to sun-down. But no complaints here, because that’s what you do when you own your own business.
Kick Back and Relax with a Cocktail
The one reprieve, around 5 o’clock in the afternoon, was a neighborhood restaurant/bar where we enjoyed a drink, the best small plates around and the most friendly bartender named Mike. We were able to kick back and relax for a bit before we were back to the grind until bedtime.
It was so refreshing to walk in and see a familiar face. Someone who would call out our name, chat around our table and sincerely ask about our lives. That was several years ago, our business is doing great and doesn’t require as much tender loving care. But we still stop in once or twice a week. Why? One, because the food and drinks are great and two, because of the people we’ve met along the way.
“Where Everyone Knows Your Name”
Everybody should have a local “Cheers” Bar where everyone really does know your name. We’ve probably spent more time and money there than we should have, but the value it has added to our lives, especially when we were new in town, has been priceless.
A Comfort Cocktail for Fall – Pumpkin Spice Martini
I’ve been trying to come up with the perfect concoction for some Autumn cocktails. So we decided to stop in “our” bar the other evening, had the best fish tacos and bacon wrapped shrimp and of course my usual drink which is a caramel appletini. I wanted to throw a couple drink ideas past Mike to see if the ingredients would work together. He provided great insight into the making of really good cocktails. I think you will be pleased with our inventions. I’ve included one here in this post – Pumpkin Spice Martini. It is the perfect Fall drink as you sit and sip the evening away. The second drink we came up with is a Caramel Apple Hot Toddy, which I will post in a couple weeks. I guarantee you’re gonna want these. It’s time to relax! Put on those comfy jeans and a sweatshirt while letting the week roll off your shoulders. Tonight, you can enjoy the flavors of pumpkin pie in a cocktail.Print
