Moscow Mules are the quintessential summertime cocktail. This recipe takes the classic Mule and gives it a twist with the taste of fresh cucumber. Ginger beer brings the taste of freshly squeezed ginger along with a sweet spiciness to your party.
Muddle the cucumber peeled cucumber in the bottom of a stainless steel cocktail shaker.
Add 1 jigger of the vodka, juice of the 1/2 lime and enough ice to fill the shaker to 3/4 full.
Give it a good shake for about 15 seconds
Strain into a copper mug and top with 5 ounces of ginger beer.
Finish it off with a handful of ice cubes.
Garnish with three slices of cucumbers on a cocktail pic.
If you have it, by all means, go for the freshness of a real lime. There’s no comparison to it and lime juice from a bottle.
You don’t have to go for the top shelf brand, but don’t end up on the bottom either. Tito’s or Svedka makes a really nice vodka that goes well in this Moscow Mule.
Keep your vodka in the freezer and your ginger beer in the refrigerator. Therefore when the ice comes in contact with these ingredients, their taste won’t be diluted because of room temperature ingredients.
